Harry meeting and falling in love with young Snape has always been one of my favorite kinks - this idea has been featured in quite a few time-travel fics but, much to my disappointment, also quite frequently abused. I don't know why it is so hard to find a good Young!Severus/Harry fic - maybe because this idea calls for too many clichés, or maybe because it attracts less experienced writers - hard to say.
I have started compiling a list of Snarry fics involving Harry and young Severus in love (so I am not interested in every fic involving young Severus, in flashbacks or otherwise, no matter how good it is - BTW, go and read Two Lockets by Acid and Sinick if you haven't already). I will welcome all the suggestions:-)
### - fics that I find particularly worth reading
# - liked, but no fireworks
Please note: the impressions I share reflect my tastes only - if I didn't like the fic, it doesn't mean that it won't become your favorite piece of all times, right?:-)
Please give me more:-)
The Paradox of Existence, by Dragon Light (unedited version here, as a back-up)
R, novel-length. Summary: The future repeats itself in the past, i.e. which came first, the chicken or the egg.
There's a one-sided young!Snape/Harry, which turns into a proper one in the future.
Ah, I was hoping you'd read this post:-) You're my greatest inspiration when it comes to lists after all - and thank you for all your recs, they are of immeasurable value for someone who has been in and out of fandom much too frequently during the last year or so.
Hmmm, I will try to make myself go through this fic this time - I think I've tried it at least twice and every time got discouraged by the way Severus is portrayed in his young days. So maybe this time:-)
I agree, NEVER enough Snarry lists! :D
Hmmm... are you interested in Deage-Fics? If so Seeker's 'Unexpected Series' is
Hope this fits! (and if not just enjoy ;) )
I will do my best to keep the list up to date:-)
Reviews - tricky things they are. I can't even count how many times I have actually thought of deleting them: I am of an opinion that fandom should do anything to encourage further writing. But does it mean that I can't have an opinion of my own and share it with others on my LJ? But what if reading it hurts the author and actually discourages her/him? But what if I phrase it carefully and stress the fact that it is my opinion only? Is it enough? Or maybe thematic lists - bound to reference all sort of fanfics - should aim to be perfectly neutral and giving "stars" is enough?
Many questions I can't really answer. painless_j probably knows all about it:-)
PS. Hilarious icon BTW:-)
i think you handled it really well, actually. i maintain a few master lists + recs, and with one of them i tried to also do reviews (meaning, i say something about each of the fics i've read, even if i'm not exactly reccing it), and that was the hardest thing to do. because honestly, the point isn't to discourage people, or to say anything definitive, it's all just an opinion. i think that came across really well in your list.
ps- hilarious? c'mon, sullen!richie's perfect for the role.
Excellent list. Harry/Young Snape is my absolute all time kink as well. Actually, I fell into the fandom after reading The Return of the Prodigal by Lachesis. Like you said, odd that there weren't more written. I'm friending you, btw~~~
If you haven't already, you should also check out The Swing by Svartalfur that explore the possibility of Snape growing up with a true friend (Harry). The Snape there is simply adorable.
What about DETaH by Lee Lee Potter? http://www.hpfandom.net/eff/viewstory.p
And this one - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2760313/1/O
AAAAAAA!!!! I can't describe how much I love you. Sorry no recs from me but I gotthis idea that I would like to read a Harry/Severus slash in marauder era and was desperately searching for it and here you come.
Two new fics, from the Games.
The Ghostwriter, by Klynie
Snape/Harry, NC-17, ~29000 words. Warnings in the fic post. Genre(s): Postwar. Prompt(s): Hunger, Puzzles. Summary: Hiring a ghostwriter for his autobiography reveals secrets Harry would prefer to leave hidden.
Escaping the Paradox, by Meri
Snape/Harry, Harry/other, Snape/other mentioned, NC-17, 35700 words. Genre(s): AU and Romance. Prompt(s): Learning to Dance. Summary: After Harry is thrown back in time to 1971, he has several choices to make.
BTW, for me personally - as I am a big fan of the Young Severus/Harry theme, stories like 'the Ghostwriter' or the below mentioned 'Acceptable Losses' do not really qualify for the said theme. Though Severus looks younger, he's still his old self mentally. There's a difference.
And one more. It seems a popular theme this season :)
Word Count: ~ 32 000
Summary: An unexpected sacrifice opens the doorway to a new life for Severus Snape.
And don't forget The Sleeping Prince by Who_La_Hoop, from the Games. It's wonderful!!!!!
Thank you for the list, also. It's one of my top favourite themes in HP - Harry and Severus as equals, in age and background. I didn't know a couple of marvelous fics you gathered here, so GREAT THANK YOU.

Okay. You *really* need to post warnings next to your stories.
I'm currently reading "Tread Softly", and... Damn! It is *dark*! When I first started reading, I was like, okay, okay... yeah yeah... way too many adjectives... I get it, Harry's powerful...But then.
But then! The plot reeled me in and hit me hard. And right as I got hooked, the story became deeply unsettling, and dark, and evil, and... I usually like evil stories. But Man! Give a girl a warning next time! Now, I'm going to have to finish the entire story (of course I have to know what happens, or I'll die of curiosity), but if this story doesn't have some relief soon I might just gouge my own eyes out so that I won't *have* any way of continuing. >.<
It's really good though. Thanks for reccing it. ^^
A) this is a recs list-- she is not responable for the writer stories --or lack warning: (when someone recs a story it is not their place to tell you about plot twists or warnings. i mean they can..but mostly don't(or i should say i don't)-it's more of a case..of buyers beware).
B) as i see if you blindly go into a story without reading the summary or authors notes/warning..then your asking for it. I know some writers won't warn to some things cause they think it ruins the plot but damn you have no right to tear into the person who rec'ed it. If your pissed put the blame where it belongs and email the writer, or just let it go.
I'm sorry, but that was hardly 'tearing into' someone. Anonymous actually said she was enjoying the story, dark as it was, and she thanked the list-mistress for it. in my experience people don't thank people they are pissed off with/are tearing into. it would defeat the purpose.
moving on:this list is bloody awesome. snarry is my favourite pairing ever - it actually go me into slash - and young!snape/harry is totally brilliant. thankyou list-mistress!
Look no matter how she covered it..the backhanded complement ticked me off as much as her pissy first lines. As reccer i can't give long thought out summary and warnings on every fic i rec, not when I put together master lists. I try warn for the things i remember but it's unrealistic that we reccers can catch every thing and thats what people like her expect. No she was pissed so she vented it on the reeccer not the writer as she should , or maybe said writer did warn for it, and she should learn read the writer notes but i guess that too hard to remember.
and what the hell..this post is over two years old , get a life man.
Title: The Sleeping Prince
there's a story i read a while ago but i dont remember the name and ive been looking for it everywhere. Sape goes to the dursley's to check up on harry and then falls or somthing happens where a time-turner in his possesion breaks and turns him younger. every time another piece of the time-turner gets absorbed into his body he ages a little. it really is an awesome story... if i could only remember the name!!
Thank you so much for directing me to Tread Softly! Goddamn it's amazing. Wrote flaily comments to the author, lol, and now I'm caught in the web of the sequel - guh, I want more of it. >.< But I'd never come across this story before, so thanks for listing it and recommending it!
One of my favorites is A Place Between Sleep and Waking by r_grayjoy: http://www.walkingtheplank.org/arch
Thanks for this list! I've read a lot of these, but there's some new ones here. This is one of my favorite kinks as well. In fact, I have a plot bunny running around my head about a story along these lines as well.

There is also "My name is Cameron Sage" by thesewarmstars.
It's time travel, not exactly a teenage Snape, but he is definitely younger than Canon. Plus its very well written and an enjoyable read.

Okay, I read this one fic where Snape was de-aged by a hex gone wrong from the final battle, can't remember a damned thing, and has written himself (the younger) a note saying Harry Potter would take care of him because of a life debt. Harry does, they fall in love, and There's a nice sex snene at the end. I can't , for the life of me, remember the name. At the beginning, Snape keeps saying "it said you'd explain this" if that helps.
How about An Accident In Time by ciraana: One evening, Harry opens the door to an unexpected visitor, and is faced with a boy who looks and sounds like a younger version of Severus Snape. Exactly like a younger version.
I like this one very much, very good characterising, and no Sevvy or Siri or any of that bullshit. You might want to give it a try ;)
